Philip Tucker, Alexander Technique teacher, Oxford

Philip Tucker

Philip teaches from his home in South Oxford, about a mile and a half due south from Oxford city centre.

Philip trained at the Hampstead Alexander Technique Training Course in London and has been teaching for 8 years firstly in London and more recently in Oxford. He is a member and former chairman of the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (STAT).

Philip has long been fascinated with the interaction of directed thinking and physical movement which is a central feature of the Alexander Technique.

The British Medical Journal has published the findings of a clinical trial which show that Alexander Technique lessons provide long term benefit for chronic back pain sufferers. Philip will help those with persistent back pain to start to explore the causes of their own back pain with a view to eradicating or at least alleviating the pain.
